So...the month of December marches onward, whether we want it to or not I guess.

It's the 15th. How does this happen? Where did the month go? Why am I in this handbasket and where am I going?

It's the 15th! That means today is the last day for artists to sign up and the first day for authors to sign up over on pictures2words.

It's the 15th day of Comment Porn Month over on phantisma and today's theme is "Trapped!" and prompts and fic writers are welcome. Trap your favorite characters in a compromising situation!

Today is our potluck at work. This means food from about 8am through late afternoon. Also known as "gain 20 pounds" day.

And, in writing news, I am working my way through 6000 words of Daddy!Kink...somewhere around half done I think. I have three more 6000 word stories to work on over the next month or so.

I also have some Christmas stuff to do for folks that asked. I'll be working on those this week/weekend so I can post them on Christmas Eve.

My shopping, despite not starting until last Friday, is nearly complete. Just a few things to pick up next week. Gift cards mostly.

I've been in an absolute panic about money. Complete tizzy.

Then yesterday, when I found out the car loan company wouldn't let me postpone a paypment, I went into full out melt down.

And in the middle of my melt down I realized something.

I have an extra paycheck this month.

Crisis solved, Christmas uncanceled. It still isn't going to be the specactacular of Christmases past, but if I play my cards right I might even end up with my flight to ConCon before the month is out.

Color me relieved.

I feel much, much, much better now.

A Lesson Learned

So...here's a lesson for anyone who has and uses a Paypal debit card.

It isn't like a normal debit card. They want you to think it is, but it isn't.

So recently I took a trip to Tucson. Most of my money for that trip was in my Paypal account, for which I have a debit card.

I checked my balance once I got to my father's house, and again before I left so I'd know when I had to switch to using my bank debit card.

I did not check the details, just the balance, and therein was my downfall.

See, several places where I used the debit card on the way down only showed up as a $1 "hold" and the actual charge didn't come through until days later.

Which means my Paypal is now in the hole by a rather sizeable margin.

Which of course cascades into everything else. I had the month pretty closely figured as it is....and now?

*heavy sigh* Time to buckle down a little harder I guess. I may have to rethink a few things...and how I handle some of my bill paying.

And now, I have to go to a meeting. Grr. Oh, and yeah. This cold stuff? Not liking it. Neither are my shoulders, elbows, wrists or hands.

And I forgot my heating pad today.

Monday, Monday

Here we are back at Monday. These things just keep happening!

It was a weekend in which I got nothing I planned done, but that's okay.

I was sidelined for a bit of Saturday with a migraine, then the arrival of the cable guy, five minutes early, to install my new modem that is supposed to give me phone...if I had a phone. I suppose I'll pick one up eventually, because if nothing else, I can have the landlord route the gate calls to it (since they won't route to a non local number, which my cell phone is.

I'm hoping my car loan will let me push out my December payment. It would fix so many of my current financial problems. If they don't...well, I'm guessing that my I'm going to get a whole lot thinner before December is over...and Christmas will be...in January.

And all of that is without chasing down medications...which I still need to do. This whole switching of insurance thing is a pain in the buttocks.

I need to figure out what's wrong with my printer so I can get photos out. I've got the ink, but it's not communicating with the computer for some reason. Maybe I just need to turn everything off and restart it.

I also have a bunch of pictures to process from Arizona still. Meant to do that this weekend, but as I said before...I didn't do much of what I had planned.

My kitchen is clean though, so I guess that's something.

And I wrote a lot. Gotta love comment porn month! Now if I could just focus on the one thing I'm having issues writing.

I could ramble on about many subjects from here...I'm feeling kind of talky...but I won't bore you with my drivel...

This week went fast!

I got home around 8:30 Monday, after staying for dinner at my brother's house when I stopped to drop Kara off.

I got Kara hooked on more Kane music and need to burn her some CDs this weekend.

Worked from home on Tuesday, and back to the grind on Wednesday.

I can't believe it's December 4th already. How does this happen?
